Meaning

  1. Pittha – means a mad person or someone who is crazily in devotion to the lord
  2. pirai soodi – that person who has moon adorned in his head. Pirai means moon and also means the buddhi. In tamil it is called Madhi
  3. perumane arulala – that lord can’t you not bless me with your arul
  4. etthal maravadhe – How can I forget you
  5. ninaikinren manathu unnai vaithai – when you are always in my heart
  6. attha !! – here the person implores as O’Lord
  7. unakku aai aai – I am no comparison to you
  8. ini allen enal aame – and after knowing you I am not myself anymore i.e. i am not this physical body but i am merged in you

A beautiful poem which my mother taught me in school days and I remember it even now, but look at the beauty of sundarar and his bhakti and gyanam flowing as one stream
