பரவியோ மம்பரம ஜோதிமயம் விபுலம் பரம்பர மனந்தமசலம்
பரமலோ காதிக்க நித்தியசாம் பிராச்சியம் பரபதம் பரமசூக்ஷ்மம்
பராபர மநாமய நிராதர மகோசரம் பரமதந் திரம்விசித்ரம்
பராமுத நிராகரம் விகாசனம் விகோடணம் பரசுகோ தயமக்ஷயம்
There Ramalinga Adigal or Vallalar gives us a view of what is Brahman or consciouness. Even though he was a bhakti person, his poems are littered with Advaitam all over. One has to view that Bhakti will lead to Gyanam eventually. Vallalar was a person who posessed both and was able to see this vision very clearly.

பரம வ்யோமம் – Just like the expanse of the sky. The sky is limitlessly vast.
பரம ஜ்யோதிமயம் – Absolutely illustrious. No other light is required to shine this light.
விபுலம் – Available everywhere. Abundant and not restricted to one location. Omnipresent.
பரம் பரமானந்தம் – Absolute happiness.
அசலம் – Doesn’t move.
பரம லோகஆதிக்கம் – Overlordship of all
நித்தியம் – That which is available always.
பிராச்சியம் – Ancient .
பரமபதம் – belongs to higher order of reality.
பரம சூக்ஷ்மம் – very subtle and hidden and not available for experience.
பராபர மனாமயம் – is residing in the deepest part of the manah and is the light for the mind.
பரம தந்திரம் – Very deceptive and not easy to be known. Just like a magician who wields the magic wand and mesmerizes, so is this.
விசித்திரம் – Different from other objects.
பராமுத நீராகாரம் – No particular form.
விகாசனம் – That which expands. The word Brahman is from the word ‘Brih’ which means expand.
விகோட்டணம் – Guna rahitham
பரசுகா தோயம் – That which gives eternal happiness.
அக்ஷயம் – That which does not get destroyed.
